The Star Newspaper in Kenya-Fresh, independent, Different

TNewspapers in Kenya, the star, nairobi star websitehe Star is the younger of all Kenyan newspapers. It launched in 2007 as Nairobi Star, then appealing mostly to the younger generation. In 2009, the paper went national, changing its name to “The Star” from “Nairobi Star” By this they declared a war in trying to garner their own readership, slicing from the market already held a bit too tight by Nation media Newspaper and The Standard. The Star Newspaper have the slogan “Fresh, independent, Different”

The star consequently started offering news from all-over the country and increased its print volume to about 40 pages from Nairobi Star’s 20 pages. Since then, the star has enjoyed heavy advertising especially through Classic 105 radio, Radio Jambo and Kiss FM and their sister Television stations Classic and Kiss TV. Recently, the star launched their website, which still maintains the nairobi star domain name. The site is Joomla CMS based and quite appealing. The online paper has columns on National, Local-which deals with the county system and news, Business, Opinions, Sports, Lifestyle, Society, Cartoon and of course some wikileaks.
